Director of Engineering - Renewable Energy
Engineering professional with more than 30 years of experience in renewable energy and
energy efficiency applications and consulting. Strong academic background and broad technical
knowledge in the field of renewable energy. Served as a consultant to many U.S organizations
in the areas of PV system design and renewable energy applications in solar cooling and water
desalination (2013-present). Worked as principal engineer dealing with renewable energy
applications, PV system design, water desalination and science and technology partnerships at
the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL 2007-2013). Director of many Energy Centers
such as the Energy Research Center (1998-2006 Bahrain), the Energy and Environmental
Research Center (1997-1998 Iraq), and the Solar Energy Research Center (1993-1997 Iraq).
Consultant and technical adviser in the area of renewable energy and energy efficiency for the
United Nations Environmental Program for West Asia (2006-2007 UNEP/ROWA, Bahrain).
Consultant and technical adviser to the U.S. Department of State for the organization of the 1st and 2nd U.S-Iraq Solar Energy Conferences in 2009 and 2011. Have 13 contractual studies and consultations with Arab leagues, German, and U.S organizations, and author of more than one hundred publications, two books and four patents.
